Ok. well it has had alot of work done to it in the last 6 months, so it is almost a new landy in an old shell.

so are most landys, thats one of the reasons folk love them. cheap parts and easy to work on. all i can see is a shiny engine bay which is easy to do and a few leds inside.

if you have your heart set on it go for it but dont expect your money back if you come to sell

And that's what we all do, spot one we fancy buy it, fall in love with it and continue to lavish it with lots of dosh (much to our OH's disgust:D), albeit we all haggle the price down no matter how much work has been done to it;)

dunt sound like much of a keen landy keeper either

"(I'm a student, so it's bit of a landmark in the Uni car park surrounded by hot hatches!).

I bought it about 6 months ago, just before moving to Uni. It's unfortunately not the best for a penniless student, as I haven't got the time to take it off road and enjoy it properly."

penniless student eh? but looking for -

"I'm looking to replace with a SWB 2.5TD manual Shogun early '90s or Jeep Cherokee 2.5TD manual around 1998.
-P/X wouldn't be overlooked..."

he would be better off keeping the 90 (better mpg, cheaper insurance) unless of course there is something wrong with it

all seems a bit fishy to me

By using his logic, I have concluded that my 93 200 is worth £5000 minimum. I've doubled me money :D

Paid £2k for my 1993 200tdi 90 and spent easily the same again on it doing essential work and 'look good' accessory add ons. If I sold it now with its 12 month MOT I'd be lucky to get £3.5k ... that's why we don't buy them to sell quickly.
It seems he wants a grand for the LED's to me! ... assuming that if he's your mate you won't have to go through ebay so there's a big saving for starters as no fees for him!
Good luck if you do go for it ... sure Khaos will agree, the 200tdi is a fab Landy :)
