Retired - Living the dream
Well the day has finally come, after the misery of parting with my TD5 Discovery yesterday that had served me well (mostly) for 11 years.
Up early today, caught the half 8 train from Haymarket in Edinburgh heading North to Aberdeen and beyond.

For the first time in my 51 years I crossed the forth by train and was rewarded with a view of the new completed spans of the new Forth Crossing

At present making progress through Fife.
Updates to follow as and when Internet allows

I'm just home had a lovely 3 and a half hour drive home with no problems.
Averaged 32.4 miles to the gallon and sat at 60mph with the cruise on most of the way.
Amazed how smooth and quiet it is compared to the TD5 and I always thought that was fairly quiet.
Lovely winters day until 10 miles from home and its pouring of rain here.
Photos to follow tomorrow

Treat me just right and magic happens.

Hopefully get some years out the D2 and then maybe get a D3 and keep that running, or maybe a D4 if they have come down in price, they are a bit sexual!

it only took me 30 x years of owning landies to finally get to a D3 :D

Not yet, but like to have one for when it breaks, plus there are loads of ECU's that you can update and play with - ask @gstuart he's a wizard
Photo above is the only one so far, just been out after firing up the Fuel Burning Heater earlier via the remote control, I'm impressed with that bit of kit But dont tell @gstuart coz he's not got one!!
Its -4 here at present - photos to follow

oh, where's my bloody remote, :p:p:D

i've actually got my fbh working so ner, ner, :D:D

there lovely to drive , can't believe it's a land rover , no doors falling off, dry, lol

are good fun the iid, can change all sorts of settings, 3x flash setting for motorway land changing , automatic door locking , time on display , where it shows outside temp, range, trip, average mpg

think there's 15 x ecu s in the landy

can change the length of time the interior lights stay on after you've locked it, also headlights stay on so u can see up ur driveway , that can be timed as well, called follow my home lights

i assume u know u can program the 3rd button on the remote to lower it to access mode and more

change all ur suspension height , mm by mm , the manual is some 175 pages long

trying to find a key cutting services , got another keyfob of course the key is a blank , been in a few shops, they took one look at the key , deep intake of breath , oh sorry sir u will have to take the key fob apart

all good fun

I just presumed that as the 3rd button on the remote was programmed to turn on the FBH then you couldn't use it for anything else?
Mine came with 2 fobs, one quite well used and 1 brand new

i thought the third button was for the suspension , thats what i was told, but alas will hold my hands up if that's wrong

let me consult my book of words, to see if it will clarify that :D:D
