Quick update...
Not much done since the last post but now have a smaller steering wheel and the drivers door locks with the key

Central locking is totally buggered so I'm starting from scratch and ordered an aftermarket kit which will hopefully be fitted soon

Also, I've been given a light bar with 4 lights fitted

Picture of new steering wheel as promised

Also managed to replace the bulbs on the gear selector (I did clean it out after I took the photos). I also need a new surround as mine is cracked (not by me) so if anyone has one please let me know

New toys for the Discovery..yet to be fitted as I'm still waiting for a few more bits to arrive so I can hopefully get everything done in one weekend rather than keep stopping and starting
Headlight washer jets - mine were missing

LED lights for the roof bar (4 x 72 watts)

Power socket to replace the original cigarette lighter (which was held together by silicone)

Maestro van rear lights so I will have indicators and tail lights at the side of the tailgate / rear door (whatever it's called) as well as in the bumper

Superstar 260 radio..not sure where to mount it yet

Love that CB :)

Coming along there, did you fix your shift lights as you wanted?
Thanks.

The Cb is proper old school, can't wait to install it.

Managed to sort the shift lights but wasn't happy with them so had a change of plans and waiting for a few bits now to get it looking good

Got a few more parts on order which I'm hoping will be delivered this weekend

I went retro on the CB too, picked up a very clean Amstrad 900 on EBay, takes me back to my youth :)

Very intrigued by your shift lights now, keep the piccies coming :)

I'm watching and Amstrad 901 on eBay at the moment it was the first Cb I owned, also watching a Harriet CBX.
I'm a bit of a collector when it comes to old radios

Will definitely put pictures up as and when things happen but I'm relying on friends and favours for a lot of parts so I have to be patient

Are there still many people using CB? I used to muck about with it until the government made fm legal and ruined it.
There's a fair few on sideband and a number local to me still use the old UK 40. I'm not sure what the figures are for the whole of the UK
I'm currently doing my Ham exams too
Mainly have the cb in the truck for going to shows in convoys and on holidays as we go as a large group

I also had a 901 as my first CB, had a mag mount on a biscuit tin, the 901 I was bidding on a month ago went for over £60, too much for me as you can buy a brand new starter kit with mount & aerial for £75 on Thunderpole.

Oooh, winch mount, fancy :)

They do hold their prices unfortunately

Nope...not a winch mount. It's a mount for bumper mounted spotlights that uses the original number plate fixing holes to save drilling any more holes in the bumper

Same as this

Like that, but it sticks out too much for me, I am no fan of my roller fairlead either, but that's destined to go when I fit the house for the synthetic rope.

To be honest, I thought the same until I saw one in the flesh. They don't stick out as much as it seems on the video

I like that mount - where did you get it? :)
