Hi folks,

I noticed my parking lights flickering and also the lights in the dash. The alternator light also came on a couple of times as did the "alternator fault " message on the display .
I had cleaned the earth and live connections recently and got the following voltages on idle : 13.80 on the battery terminals / 14.00 on the alternator ( electrics off ) then 13.50 at battery and 13.85 at alternator with lights, blower and radio on.
A search on this forum suggests that my voltages are on the low side so time for a refurb/new unit ?
My unit ( on a 1999 4.6 gems ) is labelled as Magnet Marelli A127i - 120 Amp , Part No. AMR 2938E. Someone here must have sourced suitable parts to refurb their similar unit ( carbon brushes / regulator/rectifier etc ). I have not been able to - mine has a nut/bolt for the main feed and two smaller bolts - one with a brown wire bolted on and nothing on the second.
Can anyone help/ offer a suggestion ?

Thanks

It ain't Lucas prince of darkness as far as I'm aware, it's Fiat Italian crap. do a search on Ebay or Google, you will find the bits needed to re-furb it.

Hi again,

An earlier typo - mine is a 1998 not a 1999 though that probably doesn't matter.

Datatek - did try Ebay as you suggested - none there match mine. There are A127's though they have a yellow wire coming out with a spade connecter at the end and two large bolts.

Mine is a A127i with the large and two small bolts coming out

Regards

There must be refurbishers in Londinium. But if you do a search for Ribblesdale auto electrical on the web. They are the main refurbishers of vehicle electrcal components in the NW. Ring them tell them your part numbers, i am sure they will have or can obtain your bits. Done it for you.
