My Freelander gave me a busted window regulator cable for Christmas bless her!
Now then, which one of the kits on Fleabay is the recommended one?
I remember someone here saying there are some good ones and some bad.....
Anyone bought and fitted a "good" one recently and can recommend the seller?

Brake cable from bike shop ,get that first £2 .Have a go at a diy fix .

There are a few threads here ,somewhere .

The only problem with DIY is getting the nipple bits on the end of the cables to stay on.

I have used a kit from OSCO but eventually the nipples came off the end of the cables, a cheaper alternative is from the ebay seller idealautoteile which appears to be the same type of kit as OSCO, now fitted with good results and delivery is quite quick as well

Buy the whole kit with clips and pre cut cables, will save you a whole lot of problems....Dont buy the just cable ones they are a nightmare..

Same price if not cheaper

Freelander Window Regulator Repair Kit Rear Right OSR | eBay

I got the above kit. Seemed to be good quality. Pig to fit but worked well, still going 3 months later.

I would recommend getting some silicone grease too and coating everything that moves in it. Makes for a much smoother window movement. Should improve the life span too.

Dont by THIS one if you want a load of trouble.


Its all you need really, but cutting the right lenght and then glueing the stop ends on is a right pig.....Have used one once and so far ok, one the stop end came off, and the other cable was not the right lenght.


So much easier to buy one like the one mentioned above.
