tok my old p38 up to rivington today, did all the usual research usual trailwise etc and found what I think is the only legal green lane up there, Started from the car park and went up, and I must admit I was ****ting myself, I thought there is now way I am going to make it up here! very rocky narrow.

sorry I am a n00b!

Anyway, I can't believe how well it did, I just put it in low range and let it climb slowly, it didn't even slip once, massive smile on my face!

Also to add saw 2 other 4x4's up there in front of us, and I now understand the "off Piste" saying, its ridiculous the tracks they are making for nothing! just running up embankments and down again, its a mess and its no wonder people think 4x4's are a nuisance

I am not making me out to be whiter than white but every rambler and dog walker i came across I stopped and let them walk past, and to be fair they all thanked me, but the mess up there is stupid, the ruts made in the embankments are for nothing, they don't lead anywhere, they just seem to drive up them at full throttle and back down again.

Well done for being responsible though ... good to see and something we at Landyzone pride ourselves in :)

Ah feck it have fun! Well sone for doingt the checks and keep it up! Take some local mates phone numbers and enjoy. Laning alone is a big no no because many are clueless your clearly not you have done your research and you got home ok. We all do it (laning alone) have done it. and will keep doing it Enjoy!

P.s please don't get stuck and ask for help now! hehe!

Hi Guys, thanks for your advice, I know the golden rule is not to go out on your own, but I couldn't find anyone to go with, so I took a friend in his car which was parked near by to our starting point and I walked the route first, I know its not ideal, but after all the reports I read about this lane it seemed it was not too difficult, I took the risk, but with back up near by.
