Just picked up my first landy at the weekend. 1st job was to spend most of the day washing, t-cutting & polishing to try and bring a little shine back to the old girl. Looks a lot better for the wash. Currently no MOT on it, only needs a bit of welding on chassis, bulk head and front dumbirons which a friend will do for a fraction of the normal cost. Gonna use it for a bit of greenlaning ect have a little fun and gain a little experience from it. . . . Any thoughts on it?

Looks very nice. I'm sure you'll have some fun in that :)
Must polish mine at some point. Always seem to be other jobs more pressing though. Maybe in the Spring.

thanks. its the original 2 and a quarter diesel

you gonna keep the owd lump in her or go tdi with evryone else

im gonna keep me old 10j as i know fer a fact theyll run on anything such as veg oil bio diesel rapeseed oil etc

gotta get mine running right on just normal derv first ( smokes like dot cotton in a bingo hall ):D:D:D:D

Looks like you picked yours up around the same time as me! I bought my first landy (series 3) a couple of weeks ago and it seems we're in the same boat! I have a feeling I may have possibly even seen yours advertised...best of luck!

i really wouldn't advise running on veg or bio unless you like the idea of having the injector pump rebuilt

the injector pump is the being rebuilt is the first thing im doing but sending it to the old retired diesel specialist over the street who is gonna keep an eye on me doing this and in return im building him a gas bottle wood burner for his garage as this will cost me nowt and cost him nowt

and before i do anything with it as far as running it after the mass of welding im going right through the plumbimg and lectrics

Gonna keep it as it is for the time i have it, then it will still be standard when i sell and possibly worth more standard to a pureist. . . .

small world! how are you finding yours? is it petrol or diesel?

good luck nice purchace but please dont T cut the old girl as the paint will be thin enough as it is good luck welcome to the family

nout wrong with veggie

i run 25% veg during the summer but i do have 200tdi's in my landies

an original 2.25 diesel will run veg but don't expect the injector pump to last too long, they are known to seize up on veg, also the seals will most likely require replacing for later newer materials (viton i think) if running on bio or you'll most likely find yourself pouring diesel out all over the place

i only ran my 2.25 for a couple of months but decided that as it was going to be my daily i needed a little more get up and go and economy which is why i swapped the engine out, for my use it's about the best thing i could have done
