Need advise, rear x-member has to be replaced, should I remove the rear tub or try jacking to give room to cut old one and weld the new one?

depends how much your replacin, i recently changed mine for one with chassis rail extensions so i took tub off, reckon replacin just cross mem would be ok just jackin up.. never done it this way myself though!

if you take tub off spot weld a piece of steel fromm chassis rail to a marked spot on old and new member that way you will have somethin to line up new one with when old ones gone. be accurate with this my chassis is now 5mm longer cause i got lazy!

hi larry, thanks for the advise it is off the road at the moment, so have the time to remove the tub and it will give me the chance to have a good look at the rest of the chassis thanks

Tack it in place with the tub on to get it located right then take the tub off to weld it properly.
