Ok so my cousin took the motor into work (westland helicopters) and they stripped the motor cleaned it all up and testet it, it will run but only with assistance starting it so its shot.

So now trying to source a motor or complete unit, but having trouble finding one that age, it needs to be from a 200tdi or just a 90td to have the same connections, from a 300tdi onwards they have a different plug on. Anyone know of one? If not do you know if the later ones have the same mountings so will fit, and then I can just change the plugs over?

I fitted a td5 one to my 200tdi. Just cut the plug off and put bullet connectors on instead.

Td5 motor ordered so should be up and running by the weakened! Thanks for all the help.

Next job try and stop some of the water coming in the soft top, but will start another thread for that!

Have you got the heater box out of the landy at the moment whilst waiting for the motor?

If so replace the foam inside and on the flap and get some aluminium central heating duct tape to cover every seem from the inside and every place that cold air could bypass the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger itself is quite cheap so have a good look at it and if it isn't right change it. You will find then that the heater actually works :) You could also stick foam to the outside as insulation and make sure that the control cables are adjusted perfectly.....

How did you fit the td5 motor then mines just turned up and it dosnt fit the box, did you cut the hole bigger or fit a complete td5 outer box as well?
