After many years of dreaming, I have finally got my first Land Rover!

It drives nicely and the engine sounds sweet! I am looking forward to the challenges of ownership......

Looks good, what have you got planned? Keep updating what you do!

Thanks, as the chassis is quite good, my plan is to clean the chassis and under body and paint it. There is a little bubbling appearing under the windscreen that I will address too. (The paint was included in the sale). Then I just want to drive it and enjoy it for a while!
Long term, I would like to add air lockers and add a rear wheel carrier. Doubtless that list will grow as I get into it...... :)

Hi, looks great and good luck with whatever you do with it. And are those Land Rover 'tears' on the ground below the beast ;):p

Land rover tears haha sorry to hijack. It was my understanding that those said tears was how you knew it was indeed one?

Back to original poster - why the choice to go air lockers before anything else? Just being nosey!

I like the idea of getting traction without electronics :) and I don't really want to have a winch ;)

Today I fixed the door locks so they actually lock!
I have also added a few other security measures (more substantial) as I plan on going to the Overland show at the weekend in Stratford upon Avon.
It will be her first proper outing since the 120 mile trek from the south coast when I bought her :)
I must admit that all this talk of things getting stolen at shows in other threads makes me nervous!!

Yes, unfortunately they go walkies so maybe pm one of the well known member 're security as they have a few tricks I'm sure. Glad you are enjoying it

More likely to be off your drive to be honest! I think a lot of people use pedal box guards but someone else will be along to advise I'm sure!

I replaced all of the roof bolts with stainless steel ones today. The BZP ones were were starting to corrode and they had only been in a couple of years (the previous owner told me).
I also fixed the rattle from the cat flap rear door by adding a foam strip. It could do with a new rubber but that can wait :) meaning I have managed to tick 4 things off my list of maintenance/upgrade items to do ;)
The plan is to give her a service as I have a long weekend.

I pressure washed the chassis today. I was surprised to find that there is no corrosion and no welded plates!!
The previous owner was spot on lol. My plan is to use Tetrasyl to paint it with :)

did you park on top if that oil patches or is that whats dripped out will its sat there :D:D:D

That's the last owners drive, surprisingly there is just the mearest hint of oil from the last few weeks in my garage :D
