Hi all, thought it was about time I documented the work and adventures I have with my Disco.
This is my fifth Land Rover and fourth Discovery, had a 110 briefly but missed the mod-cons so came back to what I know.

This particular Disco is a 1995 300tdi ES auto 5 door. Was bought standard by a friend of mine who owned it for around 3 and spent a small fortune on repairs and modifications before deciding to sell at a price I couldn't say no.

So here she is as I bought her about 6 months ago

Spec includes
2" suspension lift with Terrafirma shocks and aprons
2" body lift
265/75/16 BF MT's
+50 extended arches
Southdown snorkel
Cranked rear arms
Cb radio
Lightbar
Hench rock sliders!

In addition to this he had also had a lot of new metal added to the body including new boot floor, new sills and both front inner arches replaced.

I've done a few bits over the past few months which I will update over the next few posts

Cheers for looking, any comments welcome :)

Chris

Mate was after a 300tdi front end for his 200 so sold him mine and dug out my TD5 headlights and grill.

Mostly just been routine servicing so far, had to deal with a partially collapsed wheel bearing that knackered the stub axle. Fortunatly the local supplier had one left on a Saturday so managed to make it to the local pay and play site the following day.

Needed a bit of help

Finally today's activity. Was ment to be changing the cambelt but Paddocks sent me a 200tdi rear crank seal instead of a 300tdi front one

So decided to fit my extended breathers and manifold

Then fitted my new steering bars and Terrafirma RTC damper

Few days holiday coming up so hopefully have more to add to this then :)

Liking those 33's. Where from and how much mate? I'm currently running 265
75 16's and am looking for a decent set of 33's. What they like on the road?

Got them from Tyres-direct, give them a bell as they do best deals over the phone.
Fine on the road, no noiseyer than the engine really.
Need to get my tracking done and get them balance as there's a bit of a wheel wobble at tw moment.

Well few more servicing items done yesterday.

First got a replacement alternator after this one lasted 4 months.

Not without it's drama's, had to helicoil the bottom mount

Next on to brakes, took advantage of my mates ramp to do the job

Bit past their best

Added new pistons and seals to the rear calipers

null_zps4223fc0d.jpg

Then added new discs and pads

Couldn't do the fronts as it turned out I had only ordered enough pistons to do one side. But with how much of a bitch the rears were to do I think I might just buy new front calipers and be done with it.

Now my next problem is my new wheels. From 30mph upwards the wheel wobble is horrific! Whole car shakes at 40! Gonna try and get them balanced but I fear it's something more than this. Also noticed some mild cracking of one of the inner sidewalls as well.
Starting to question the quality of these remoulds.
Anyone had thirds problems before?

You would probably be best off trying the dyna beads rather than stick on weights for the balancing. Much better for big re moulds that can be a #### to balance properly.
It's not just re moulds, mate of mine had enormous fun balancing some brand new bfg muds not long back, think the one needed 85g on it

Well after a look around I found Dynabeads.co.uk and searching on there came up with this:

Size - 33x12.5x15
Ply - 6
Beads - 8oz / 226.5g
Price - £11.36

Does this sound right for me? 4 sets, one per wheel.
