Hi
I have a PAS fluid leak from under my 1993 discovery which is comming from rite below the power steering pump.
I cleaned all the fluid from below the pump yesterday and took the discovery out for a 5 mile drive stopping and checking for the leak several times but no leak, I then parked it up outside overnight and when i went out to check the discovery in the morning there was a small patch of fluid on the ground.
my guess is it is leaking from the seal that sits between the pump and the steering rack.
My quesion is this, what is that seal called (does it have a correct name. )
also is there 1 or more seals that site between the pump and steering rack and how hard is it to change?

Any help would be great.

OOPs wrong pace i think.

Your right wrong place, but that is a common fault and i've never done it but I believe its not hard to sort.

Buy a series - they leak from the steering box and the drop arm's a bugger to get off too. I'm sure the disco forum has the advice you need....

Thanks for the replys.
Can anyone reccomend a good place for me to get a reccon steering box i think this maybe the best solution, as i have read so much about how much of a pain in the ass changing the seals can be.
How hard is it to change the whole steering box ?

Update,
I have changed that seal but now it seems to be leaking at the top of the box where the steering wheel shaft goes into the steering box.
Does anyone have any diagrams the actually whole steering set up and where all the seals go?
