has it been hitting on the bottom plate?gooday mates, noticed today that the threaded section on the bottom of my procomp +5 shockers (front) is bent is this normal? whats causing this?
and does anyone make a shock relocation bracket so its out of the spring? or do i have to get creative and make some ?
sorry, prob didnt explain to well, im referring to axles fitted on the rear fenders 300tdi onwards, there's an actual cup welded onto axle to locate bottom bush, which resticts the side to side movement created by fitting +5 shocks as they articulateErm not sure what you mean about removing the cups.
IF the bushes have a tapered section to locate in the middle of the spring retainer/shock mount if the bushes have no taper then you should use the metal inserts to align or centralize the shock pin in the mount and of course the obvious one is the cups should not be fitted facing up they should be facing down so that the bush is not cupped but allowed to flex impropper fitting is VERY common and its funny just how many "Comp" motors are fitted wrongly and causes damage/limits articulation. Ther rear is very important that the domed washers are correct otherwise you will break off the welded eyes on the shock and almost certainly blamed on poor quality parts when inpropper fitting was to blame.
