Just changing the oil filter on my lannie. I went to the nearby parts shop to get a new one. I have a 300 TD Engine fitted to a 2001 Defender 110. Well the one he had in his book would not fit it! I had to get a TD5 one - PH5889. This is the same as the one I\'d just removed. Is this normal or have I got a quirky engine??!

ERR3340R is the usual one for 300 TDi and 200 TDi

Well the PH 5889 is narrower and longer.
The ERR3340 is much too wide for the thread to fit...
