[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]And looking good. I'm really pleased with this project. It was with Steve Ogg for months and months, his advice and work was priceless. My sons and I did a fair bit around school and work. A great result. Dead chuffed.
Steve did the welding to the chassis - we considered a new one but this one is still very good. Changed the cam belt and tidied up the engine no end. New rear cross member...oh that had him cussing.
Me and the boys swapped roofs (sunroof type off, full one on), we stripped her for painting but Steve insisted on masking himself. We got a proper-job spray painter to do the actual spraying.
We took the sides off and Steve fitted new capping strips which I liberated from my brothers shed. I drove round the world and got new doors but in the end one was made from two, Steve's welding is excellent. I bought all new lights which we fitted after spraying, the only thing missing is the spots (wipacs dont physically fit).
The cost was very, very low. Steve would get far more working at Tesco. I waited for it of course, its taken six months and a lot of driving and graft, but I am pleased. I recommend Steve whole heartedly (he's in the new forest).
Im also a radio ham so Steve fitted some steel back plates at various places and we fitted decent aerial mounts. We almost fitted dual charging and batteries too but I think Steve got bored by then and had other work lined up...all good fun!!
