Hi Mozz
seems to be a common problem with that system some info here LPG Discussion Forum • View topic - P38 on Zavoli, cold changeover problems.

Gaz the batterys fine but after continued turning over goes weak !!!!!!
4x4 thanks
ive never had this problem in 5 yrs ??????????? Will check that website out cheers

gazza do you think im as daft as you ???????? ha ha ha you may live in mancland but your not a manc WHERE ????????? were you born ????????

If its trying to start on LPG then you need to check your spark plug gaps and close them up to about 25 thou as lpg needs a hotter spark not a larger one

:confused::confused: WHY ???????????? doesn't anyone read the question properly ???????????? its either yes- no or don't know !!!!!!!!:):):)

Don't know why you are worried Mozz, you can't drive it anyway, also it will stop you getting more points.:bounce:

My 2000 model 4.6 has the Zavoli system, it sounds just like yours.

The lights on the dashboard unit do come on when you turn the key.

As you know the car starts on petrol, so only the red light is on at first, indicating that it is running on petrol.

Once the engine warms to the preset water temperature, the system flicks over to LPG, the red light goes out, and the yellow one at the other end comes on.

The green lights will indicate how much LPG there is in the tank, not very accurately, but they do.

Whilst running on LPG, if you press the button, the yellow and green lights will go out and the red will come back on indicating that you are now running on petrol.

Pressing the button again will switch it back to LPG.

If for some reason, the car is trying to start on LPG, it won't be able to, as I understand that the hot water produced by the engine is used to vaporise the Liquid Petroleum Gas.
