Hi all had the idea today of maybe fitting a multiple USB charger hub in my discovery 1 (ideally a 4 port)
Just wondering if anyone on here has done it ?

I have done one but took it off due to some interior changes. I Have a new one Which I have yet to fit (this is all in a Defender but same principle applies)

First of all, because a Disco's battery is mounted under the bonnet, you're going to need more cable. Get a USB hub that comes with some bits and pieces it will make things a bit easier. I'll presume you've got some basic electrical components for cars? Varying connectors etc?

Buy a kit with an inline fuse.

Something like this wouldn't be a bad shout.

Waterproof Car Motorcycle Dual USB Power Socket Charger Adapter Lighter Fuse | eBay

There's loads of variations on Ebay to look at.

Best of luck

A few things have been catching fire because the USB adapter charging current is to great for them, in the news this week, and for some bits of kit the current is not enough to charge fully or its very slow.
For safety the the aftermarket charger output should match the item being plugged in, my iPad needs more amps than my mobile phone and even less required for my rechargeable torch.

I only really want it for phones and iPod charging but, that's good to know don't fancy setting it on fire haha

I use one but I went for a decent make (Ring) to ensure it was a bit more capable of elevated amps. Got my heated seat covers plugges into it and a dash cam and a phone charger. It copes with them all fine.
