Hi all. I’m a newbie here so hope I’m posting this in the right place. Does anyone have a new Defender or Disco 5 with an adjustable height towbar? I currently have a LR one on my 3.5yo Disco, but LR are only offering the deployable ones on the new models and they’re not high enough for my horse trailer - must be 19.5” from ground to top of tow ball. I looked at a new RR but there is no after-market towbar available according to my local towbar centre. 🫤

What's a disco?

Is it one of those coils sprung Freelander things?

(I think you're in the wrong forum, this is for Landrovers built by The Rover motor company, not the, no doubt fine, coil sprung consumer products built by Tata jaguar)

But, to answer your question, with product liability, warranty and insurance considerations in mind best buy from the main dealer and if they can't accommodate, buy a land cruiser.

I'm very surprised. A land rover product that can't tow. Whatever next!!
I would also speak to the main dealer for advice, if they can't help then I'd contact land rover UK and see what they have to say about it

I’ve been trying to speak to a dealer for the last week, but they haven’t called me back. Most dealers don’t have any clue about towing, especially when it comes to the size of my trailer. I considered buying a new Range Rover but there isn’t even an after-market tow bar for that!

Have you seen the new Land Cruiser 🫣
True, but you'll be inside driving it.

Unlike a JLR product, which you will be looking as it either:

Goes on fire

Splits its crankshaft

Is stolen

Dies and needs a dealer to restart, because you opened the doors too many times.

Better off buying a series stage one V8 station wagon to be honest. Proper Landrover.

Or, if your REALLY need wind up windows, and radios and such like flippantry, but want to talk to someone who actually knows what an ifor Williams is, get a Grenadier.
