Looks very similar to what I fitted about a year ago, only mine came from Bolt On Bits rather than Mud. Nice and bright, maintenance free, you can leave 'em on without running the battery down. They don't fill up with water either, unlike the standard Land Rover units. I've added a matching fog light and reversing lamp too. Worth doing if you feel like giving your Land Rover a Christmas present.

I think I will be doing this very soon. The power usage is so low as Mr Brown has said it would be wise as Im useless at leaving my lights on !!!

I'm tempted by LED headlights as well but they're a bit dear so far. Prices seem to be on their way down though so maybe in a year or two.

I had seen the bolt in bits lights and that people had fitted them. Do you know if they are the same connection as yours?

I've got the bolt on bits ones, they are identical apart from having rdx on, id say all these are coming from the same factory in china

Would people suggest going for the bolt on ones for ease of finding a replacement or repair whilst on the road? Just looking at the plug and play type adapter on the mud ones.

in my pic the connectors hadn't been pushed on, they come separate in case your wiring isn't standard

I've fitted the rear tail/brake combo from Paddocks. They seem well made, and weatherproof. The plugs fitted are different to the single wires used on older light units, and the leads are quite short. Easy sorted if you have a soldering iron. Quite a bit brighter than the old units.

The Bolt On Bits ones come with bare wires but have the plastic connectors supplied in the kit so you squeeze the little metal pins onto the wires and stick 'em into the plastic connector body so as to fit the lamp connectors used on later Land Rovers from about the 300 TDI onwards.

I always assumed Bolt on Bits would be in Bolton because of the name, but they're near Bradford & Leeds.

Bolt on bits is where I go for things lighting etc for the old landy, I highly recommend, helpful and always got time to chat, just don't ask for a cuppa lol

One more question!

Do the lens come separate to the led part or are they a closed unit?
Just thinking about spares to carry i.e carrying a full unit while abroad.
