hi what is the best reasonably priced MT tyre and if money was no object what is the best overall Mt tyre on the market at the moment. also is it better to have wide or thin tyres in muddy conditions
regards Simon

As no-one has answered and as I have had a quick play with them...I will say that Insa Turbo Special Track tyres are great for mud.

Why....because oldy worldy paddleboats actually used them for thrashing up the mississippi.

They DID!!! :p

1. The one you can afford.
2. The one you can afford.
3. Thin, unless the mud is six feet deep, then fat an as fast as possible.

Depends on the mud. Once your tread is full of the stuff it makes no differece what yer tyres are.

yes but are`nt proper mud tyrew designed to stop them getting clogged up
Maybe. I've got BFGs on mine which are widely reckoned to be good but I've also got some really claggy mud which fills the tread and turns em into slicks

get some 16 inch dumper tyres and chuck them on there they wont block up . same tread pattern as a tracter

on a more usefull note if money was no object then probably a a simex of some sort . but insa do some good copys

just moved onto amazon mud terrians, 235's, proved good on both deep and very shallow wet mud, hardly fill up aswell.

can also recciemend amazons they can dig in a bit to much though and upset the council when you pull merc sprinters outta ditches and leave big clumps down the road

very good self cleaning heheee

so which is better insa or amazon i have colway mts 265/80/16 on mine at mo but getting worn so need to replace.
and thin is better than fat when it comes to off roading is that correct. dont care about road noise cuz dont do that many miles on rtoad but lots of green laneing and off roading

well you cant get colways theyre bust the rest is as they say the choice is yours but skinny dig in and fat are better for sitting on top

it seems that most people go for 235/70/16 or 235/80/16 it not too wide not to skinny does the job for green laning and no mods usualy needed to vehicle

Tecnic Tracker mud tyres are pretty awesome, they will go through anything and are pretty cheap too, as you can get the remoulds jus cant remember the size but they were pretty big.
