I'm still looking at getting some new tyres for my disco. are m/t tyres a larger diameter than a/t tyres-is a 235/70 16 mt bigger than an at or do they just look bigger. i know the tread is usually a few mm deeper but does this make the tyre larger:confused:
had a look but cant find much info

thanx for the pi55 takin in advance:D

the extra thickness in the tread makes em slightly bigger. A worn out set of muds will pretty much have the same circumference as a worn out set of road tyres.

dont forget all that extra road noise aswell :D:D
afternoon ratty !!!
you old tart

it's the articulation that you need to make room for, mine JUST fitted some 265/75R16 insa turbos (25mm tread) in but rubbed like made on any bump

2 inch lifted

I have 235/70/16 Insa MT's fitted. No probs with rubbing on the radious arms. Under very heavy off road use they will sometimes rub the rear arches ever so slightly on the rebound.

Nothing to worry about though 99% of the time.
