Hi all,

I've decided on getting BFG mud-terrains 235/70/16, what are your opinions?

I wanted an MT tyre sized 255/65/16 but they seem hard to come by and wanted to keep stock sizes so hence choice. I also do some motorway driving and do not want retreads.

I bought a used set of General Grabber ATs and took them offroading last weekend and came back with two slow punctures...so I don't want AT tyres and definitely not General. Repair place fixed the first one, but apparently the second needs to be vulcanised? They said they can fix it but can't guarantee how long it will hold. I have a suspicion the bloke sold me it like this, but I am not certain and either way couldn't prove anything.

What are your comments, advice or things I should think about before parting with my money?

Thanks very much :)

My bfg mud terrains were great off road and pretty quiet on road ( new style tred)
i have swapped them for retred insa's as i only use the road to get off the road :)

BFG tyres are amongst the best you can get, grip well under all conditions and last forever.

Running Kuhmo MT's 245x16 on steel mods. Never been stuck yet! Good in the wet and quiet up to 60ish. Reccomended

Well it just goes to show how subjective tyre appraisal is; I drove a works D2 with Khumo MT's on and I thought they were absolutely crâp in the mud ! Fine on-road though.

For me nothing comes close to the all round ability of BFG muds.

Yeh I have bfg MUDs 265/75/16 on the front of mine which are brilliant however Nankang mudstars are the same tread pattern only difference is they don't have the sidewall gripper bits. But are only £95 a tyre. I currently have these on the back and honestly cannot tell the difference

Kuhmo state on their literature that the MT's are unsuitable for French mud :D:D:D
