...from Grabber UHPs up to some serious knobblys ...
UHPs or the likes are on the opposite end of the scale to what I am after. As for the knobblys, I have done some deep searches and the only tyre I have found is the Kingpin Amazon.
What I would love to grab is something like the following tyres:
After sending an e-mail to 4x4Tyres.co.uk I got a reply asking me why I don't change my tyre size to 235/70/16. Now here goes another question. Can I do that?

- Grabber MT,
- B.F. Goodrich MT-KM2,
- Federal Couragia M/T,
- Cooper Discoverer STT
What I mean is, would it be safe etc using tyres that size on a P38 2.5DSE?
Also, (I'm not that well versed with these tyre sizes, profiles/radiuses etc!) would that mean I would have to also change the wheels/rims?
They'll have suggested this because the difference in diameter would be 0.1 inch and in circumference 0.3 inch. The effect on the speedo would be that with an indicated 60mph you would actually be doing 59.8mph.
So, a slightly narrower tyre (not a bad thing in mud) but no difference where it matters.
Beware putting non homologated tyres on your car, if Portugal is like France you may have a problem.But what about the rims? Will I have to change them?
Also, by using the size indicated (235/70/16) would I be within the size range for a P38? In the owners manual they mention 255/65/16 and 255/55/18 and nothing else.

You have hit it on the head there Datatek! They are real tough over here when it comes to things like that, but saying that, there are ways. In fact at the mo over here, there is a bit of worry about quite a few things. If the new laws get passed things like raised springs, EAS to Spring conversions, winch bumpers etc are going to be banned. In their mind, if it wasn't on the car when it left the factory it is not allowed! Only extras that are made by the factory (in this case Land Rover) will be allowed.
Mind you, we are talking about a country that a few years ago banned the use of "Fog Lights" in all but foggy conditions. What the law didn't bother in explaining was that by "Fog Lights" they meant the rear "Fog Lights" as they can be a bit blinding. But you try to explain the logic about the front "Fog Lights" and what their prime function is to a local cop over here!!!!!!
But getting back to the size and rims. Will I need to change the rims?
Would 245/70/16's be a problem, or would I be running the chance of rubbing?

Use the LZ site search, not Google.Dogsbody, I have been using Google in search of some form of 255/65/16 and as I have already said above, the only ones I can find in that size are the Kingpins! In fact, this has been my last port of call in ways of finding "things" out.
As for finding something, I think I have as long as I can use the 235/70/16's, INSA Dakars.
