I have got a universal intercooler that I am planning to fit soon, however I don't see how where it is fitted is the best place for it to cool air efficiently when its sandwiched between two other hot components, surely it would be better at the front? would this in turn decrease cooling in the oil cooler that is currently at the front? or was it just put there because that's the only place lr could fit it? any help would be much appreciated.

yeah that would make sense, I have not really looked at it properly its a manual. even so would it not be better getting full air flow to it?

I know what you mean, but I suppose the aircon rad has to live somewhere. Perhaps there's a reason why the aircon rad needs cooler air than the main rad?

In fairness, it won't make a great deal of difference it being sat there, it only cools it back down to ambient after being compressed and although the air will be ever so slightly warmer coming through the aircon rad first, you've still got plenty of potential to absorb heat still
