I wasnt joking when i suggested putting a bit o petrol in it, mate of mine was a taxi driver n swore by it

i do rember readin some wer tho that is does cut ur emesions and how does it trick the machine ???

never mind tho lol

as long as it hasnt been tweaked on the pump give it a good hiding up the road, and i mean hold it on the governer 1st 2nd and 3rd gear for about 10 seconds each, sound harsh but it'll clear her out, should be able to see it getting cleaner in the mirrors. And yes it has got an exhaust filter at that age. Let her have it!

not had my disco tested yet as only had it a couple of months but my last transit test got a reading of 0.15 think the limit is 3.5? its a 2.5 di de-egr and pump turned up, not a common rail. I have read somewhere that the soot from veg/bio is grey so it fools the machine, not sure how true that is. Its commen knowledge on veg forums about the low readings.

When running on veg/bio, it burns alot cleaner but also cleans out the fuel system. I would carry a spare fuel filter thou as it can clog up. Smell alittle strange but when its cheaper, and make a mot pass easier who cares lol.

its on a P plate so does it have a cat ? never took much notice and i aint going to check as its ****in' down:) also i changed the oil + filter in MAY so not that long ago....
it should have a cat, but it might have been removed if its been removed try fitting one it should make a lot of difference otherwise fuel pump and injectors might need servicing.

jim.

Mines an R plate and has a cat, in fact just replaced that part of the exhaust, look underneath by the flexy joint near the front, if there is a small box about 6" away from the flexy joint then it's got a cat.

Do you mean a particulate filter because im 99.9% no im 100% sure it doesn't have one it will have a cat though.

I'll second that its true chuck a gallon petrol in will run much cleaner
The reason for this is because the petrol makes the combustion a lot hotter so incinerates the soot be carfull though as you can burn the tips of the injectors or worse if you put to much in.
