114k W erg 2.0l. It has had a VCR, driveshaft and rear diff though.
 
1998 1.8 5 door - 103,000

Its on its original transmission - I have replaced the cylinder head gasket with the uprated LR type.

Had to change the drivers CDL motor as it would lock, but not unlock.

Occasionally get a clunk from the rear - I have new diff bushes and a new diff ready to fit - just waiting for better weather.

Car was bought as a repair project as it had suffeed a HGF. I looked in the supplied service history and approached my local 'Nationwide Autocentre' as they had recorded a strange message in the service history documentation.

When told about the scenario, they told me that they would fit a new engine as a gasket replacement would never work!! - just shows you what some people think!!
 
here we go Campers, R plate Xedi, 148k, All bar fuel pump as it came out factory. Tyres a bit bald now tho...:p

1 IRD/transfer box
1 Clutch Master, Clutch Slave Cylinder kit
1 rear diff bush

... and the list goes on. Oh, not to mention 10 new tyres in the 5 yrs I've had it.:eek:
 
104K on a W reg 1.8 petrol

Only had it since end of Jan and paranoid everytime I start the damn thing! Failed the MOT last week on f/n/s lower ball joint and emissions. Years since I worked on motors so was just expecting a couple of bolts to replace the b/joint but oh no, why design it like that when they can design it so that you have to replace the whole frigging lower arm assembly?!?! The most difficult part was getting the bolts off that held the undertray in place! Once that was removed with the help of a couple of Italians (Brutus Forcus & Ignoramus) the arm was easy. Arm = £85 from the stealers so found a place and got it for £39. A £49 check at an emission garage told me that a new Cat was required and Rimmer Bros do a pukka one for £349 but they also do a pattern part for £76 - guess which one I went for?

Today I now have a fully legal motor again with 12 months ticket. Now, the question is, do I keep it to get use of the couple of hundred quid it cost for parts and retest or do I trade it in (if I can find some poor unsuspecting bar steward) for something reliable? Oh decisions decisions..... :confused:
