That's pretty cool kit there, Ryder .. might look into that.

I like the readouts for temp .. 44c inside 27c outside .. have they broke down through overheating? The vehicle is stationary ...
 
They haven't texted me to say so, but I imaginre that I would be the last to know. with more sensors on the vehicle I could monitor the engine and its condition but we didn't have that much time to rig the vehicles with any more extensive equipment than the basic unit and a small external temp sensor.

The 111 degrees was inside the vehicle but may have been contributed to be the engine temp so can'y be certain, although the difference between internal and external seems about right.

Hey mate...let's talk about it. It's a way bigger subject than it first seems but I assure you that anything you want from it we can give you.

I am so interested in trying to get a system going where we rent/sell units to folks who are doing something interesting, and also where they may get sponsorship from companies who are looking for particular data relating to telemetry.

It's a small system, still looking for some wonderful entrepeneur to get involved - but it works. Watch this space!

Looks like the boys are stopped just off the desert highway, looks a bit close to the road for wild camping, hope they aren't broken down :rolleyes:

We will be putting up a complete snail trail with extra data as soon as all the data is in and we decide the best way to present it. I haven't promoted this page on here because I wanted people to view from RR site not my own. This one will always tell you what they have been up to, though probably not in detail.
 
Thanks Ryder, I have been reading the text updates on their site, and looking at the tracking on yours because it seems better. Still can't find the snail trail, am I being a tard ? :eek:
 
Theres a command on the list that specifies the last hour to 24 hour's' positions - you can print them or view them. Printing them in this context is pretty useless since standard reverse geocoding doesn't work in morocco but you can view them... just select 24 hours and press "Go"

Seems like they are on their way back... just took a look at the tracking and it seems that they are in central France... still bloody hot though!
 
After driving non-stop since wednesday morning (apart from a 6 hour break) we are back on Saturday. Wow, what can I say, I thought we were going to have a nice tame one this time, how wrong could I be, we seem to always suprise ourselves!

I will post up more later once I have digested...but in a summary...did plenty of off-roading and getting lost. Covered 5200 miles round trip. Stayed in random places and chilled out with random people. Got quite stuck on the beach and in a flamingo lake, the latter by trying to avoid the flourishing chancers, had a max temperature of 46c (which the Landie coped with very well) and amongst other minor repairs, managed to snap the front of the chassis in half! All good fun :)
