Hello everyone,
Malcolm here...New to Land Rover ownership(albeit bought for my daughter) but not that new to Land Rovers in general. I have just bought a Freelander 1 TD4 facelift HSE for my daughter and I must say, what a nice car but not without its faults. I can wield the spanners within reason and thats what I will be doing on this(as with every car I have owned) myself. Will post my mechanical issues elsewhere as this is just a 'Hello' but thought I would recount my daughters reaction when I surprised her when I pulled up yesterday evening in 'her' car that she had no clue she was getting(as in Freelander)
Don't like seeing anyone cry but she burst into tears when 'Dad'(CEO of 'Bank of Dad) pulled up with my big sister....as they say on that card advert...'Priceless'..... My daughter has struggled through a lot of issues of late and needs this car to 'get about' with my grand kids. I could have got her something else but as she stays in NE Fife in Scotland and its mostly rubbish weather up there thought a TD4 would be a good choice. The car has some issues, I will fix them but it is in very good condition and I looked at a few that weren't before hand, mostly common place stuff but a few leaky diffs and suspicious oil drip near where the IRD lives. Thank goodness for Landyzone, Youtube and common sense! I also was 'stalking' you all looking regards the major issues on here before signing up a couple of days back. This forum is 'ALIVE', unlike some which was the clincher. Today, I fly back to Spain (where I work) for a couple of weeks and will be looking at a few 'upgrades' (if thats the right term) and if I can't find the answers using the 'search' will no doubt throw my problem 'into the ring' to be discussed, if that's okay?
Take care everyone,
If you have read this far, shouldn't you now be getting back to work?
Best
Malcolm
