Hello,

Does anybody on here have a professional advice regarding what to do when increasing towing power for my p38 2.5 tdi.
I have have a quote for remapping @ just under £400 which will add between 30 and 40 bhp.
What adverse affects does remapping have on a vehicle and does it affect fuel emissions for the m.o.t?
Would I be better off forgetting the remap and just add a turbo and intercooler?

Thank for any help you can give.

Mike.

um a 2.5dt has got a turbo and intercooler. mine used to (long story) tow 4 tonne up a 10% hill so fantastic power, just not nippy around town.

Hi

go for a PSI Powerbox 30 mins to fit no problems and gives good up hill responce and the fuel consumptions maybe slightly better best to put a performance air filter on as well maybe k&n and the car will transform itselff as long as there are no other problems.

good luck

Tony:)

PSI Power box every time, it's plug n play, no need to interfere with the engine ECU and can just as quickly be removed if the MOT regs change re - mods. If you Google the PSI site it has power a torque graphs, from memory I think it pushes the power up to 160bhp.

Hi guys,

Reading through the instructions for the psi power box on the paddock site it states that the box should not be fitted where it will be subject to excesive heat or vibration.
Well isn't that what you get under a bonnet?
Heat and vibration.

Or does the unit/box come with long leads and fit in the cockpit?

Mike.

Ok jerseybean,

Thats where it's going to go then.
Are you happy with your psi box?
I've ordered it, should be delivered by Thursday what with the bank holiday.

Thanks.

Mike.
