Hi Mate - Got any of these left? I will take 2 Reds off your hands
Ill have to get a red and yellow when ive got some spare cash
Collected my 2 yelliw tops this week. Cheers Marc
I have a red for starter and injection/ignition system and yellow for all other circuits
Might aswell have the correct battery for the job intended
No problem having 2 yellows though, many people do.
I was thinking one for normal use and another for extras like winch, compressor and sterio n spot lights.
Just don't know what battery colour set up.
Cheers.
Yeah exactly.
Tbh unless you alter you vehicle electric system so you never drain your starter battery then you may wish to have yellow on both.
Red only has slightly more amperage but is not for deep cycle, so yellow is more multi purpose.
If I had not recircuited my vehicle to isolate the red to solely starting and engine running, I would have fitted both yellow.
You could also say that if you never planned to deep cycle and had a very big motor to crank over you may simply fit 2x red in constant parallel.
So it really depends on how you rig your systems up.
It's not difficult to move your main fuse box supply cables over to your secondary battery, leaving only your starter and ignition circuits connected to your primary.
If you run a v8 then you will need to connect your ecu and fuel pump supply etc to primary also.
But yeah.
2x yellow is the regular choice at the loss of a little CCA and a little more money to spend.
I am running one red one yellow, but there is zero chance I would drain red battery, it is only connected to starter and engine electrics.
Yellow battery runs everything else in the car.
My car is fairly extensively rewired but the principle is same
If you are going to alter your circuits then you could also run red and yellow
It's very easy on a 200 actually, simpler than 300
Anyway as above, choice of battery colour depends on your planned use
