:blabla: I have recently reverted to 4x4 after about 3k miles in 4x2 drive while I was renewing VCU bearings. I have to say that I did not notice any difference in fuel consumption. (I take the average for every tank fill)
I can say that she drives much better in 4x4 and the gearchange is better. For some reason related to lack of propshaft, I was always beating the synchro changing from 1st to 2nd. Vehicle was designed as four wheel drive and can easily be maintained as such. Provided that you stick to the rules about new tyres on the rear only and changing the oil in the IRD regularly.
