Will it pass the mot with no props or vcu?....

What's the latest on this? Will it go through?

Mine passed.
(In mondo mode) but failed on summat else.
It was easier to do the brake test on the rolling road. :)

More chance of it failing on brakes if on mondo but shouldn't fail for anything else

Cheers I should be ok then on that front......lets hope everyting else is ok..

Mine went through his mot earlier this year in mondo mode and passed. Tester made the comment he can test it on the rollers as he spotted the prop was oft. They only have a 2 wheel roller. Previously they used a decelorameter when it was x4. mot was in England.

My commercial past mot two weeks ago in mondo mode :)
Did I read somewhere that in Ireland someone's hippo failed due too missing prop??

Mine failed without but that was on emissions!! Did the head work and then it passed with no prop!!

if you have no problem with the vcu or rear diff or ird why go mondo mode .why buy a 4x4 ,I can understand if you have problem in the mentioned area's. as it cost a lot to put right and you can still use the car while you save up for the fix.

I`d have to agree with you on this one, 4x4 is 100% better in all conditions as far as im concerned....Mines gone stiff after 120k so I think its time for a new one......

But as you say if you have got a new one fitted why take it off? If its all working fine etc leave it on......

How are these reconditioned ones? I have a funny feeling im going to get a new/reconditioned one....and its just going to feel the same......Saying that ive never driven any other freelander, so not sure what to expect.......Mine was starting to get very tight on full lock....wheels would drag sometimes on full lock...you could feel it wasnt right........

I didn't have time to change my vcu bearings before the MOT.

In NI it will fail the MOT in 2wd, as the vehicle is not presented as it was designed.

Test centres are heavily regulated by DVTA

Roller brake test uses counter rotating drums to get round the 4x4 transmission, state of the art facilities!

Recon units from Bell engineering are great, I fitted one ( and new bearings) to mine a while back and all is well, I did notice a bit of resistance whilst reversing on full lock but I gather this is normal (hopefully anyway! Lol)

May I ask how much the recon unit was?
As I am still in mondo mode due to vcu failure
