URGENT ACTION FROM GLASS
You will be aware that the recent PI has resulted in an inspector recommending “Bridleway” for Brushfield Lane.
In view of the urgent need to seek 20-year user evidence for the forthcoming ‘last stand’ on the lane, GLASS have set up a unique email account brushfield@glass-uk.org
The account is intended for the collection of all factual evidence of motorised use in a period of at least 20 years before 2004. This will help us to argue for common law dedication of the route.
Quoting one of our representatives at the Public Inquiry: “The task now is to seek out those of an elder generation who used the route 1984 onwards.
Use in individual years up to and including 2004 is required. We are weakest for 1984 to 1994, but evidence for all years, by as many different people as possible, is required.
If we, as individuals, don’t have relations who fitted that category, then our role is to encourage other ‘youngsters’ to ask their relations.”
We only have a few weeks to achieve this, so please start now. Please seek out anyone who has recollections and/or pictures of driving Putwell Hill or Brushfield lane in 1984 onwards, or who has a relative who may have done so. A motor car, motor cycle or any combination of the two will do. Please forward their contact details to brushfield@glass-uk.org
If you drive the lane in the near future, ask any other motorists you see on the lane if they drove it before 2004. Did their father / grandfather / stepfather/ mother drive it?
All related queries and / or answers to brushfield@glass-uk.org please!
The address will be monitored by PDVUG reps.
