Hello,

I was just wondering how many people declare all modifications on their land rover and how much extra it cost?
Does the insurance increase in % for each modification or is there a rate depending on what you have done to the vehicle?

Cheers

anyone who doesnt declare modifications however minor is a muppet, insurance companys will try and wriggle out of any claim .

anything that isnt on it from factory is a modification to the original spec,so however small or insignificant declare it..

I'm insured with adrian flux; told them about my cosmetic mods (keyword: cosmetic) spotlights and steering guard and it didn't cost me a penny extra.

What about fitting a CB, guessing you should tell your insurance you have one fitted, since its not standard?
i bet you would moan like a girl if someone smashed your window and nicked your cb,then to find u didnt declare it.

how can an insurance company cover summit if u dont declare it:rolleyes:

no... not really, the cost of a CB (£20) compared to the excess on any policy (normally minimum £50) means the insurance company would be the last people I would tell, considering they would then use that to add an extra £2000 to my insurance every year.

Seconded! Unless everything was robbed at once

I'm with Adrian Flux also.

I have declared winch bumper and snorkel though i have not got a winch yet i was told that a winch will automatically be covered anyway.

My reason for asking was i may put more mods on the car and wanted to know how much my insurance would be affected by it.

Anybody on here declare their uprated sills/rock sliders. i bet many drivers have them but not declared there fitted to the vehicle.

Frank pickles used to be very cheap on modded 4x4, they now only insure heavily modded... so they told me
