I've used Michelin XCL 7.50x16 for 2 years. Great off-road, but they really need to be less than half worn to be really good. On road grip isn't great, wet tarmac, be afraid, very afraid.
I've now moved up to Michelin XL 9.00x16, which are the same tread pattern, just a lot, lot bigger. Fantastic off-road. Unstoppable.
Goodyear G90 Not great on or off-road. Tend to clog really easily.
Michelin XZL - Very similar tread pattern to BFG Mud. After all Michelin own BFG anyway. Very long lasting, not as good as XCL off-road, but better on.
Ok, because I'm gonna stick some new tyres on sharpish, I'm gonna swap my ****e 2.5 remoulds that came with my series 3 (remoulds, scary), with my mates 109 rims and standard LR tyres. Reckon I'd be ok sticking with them or getting some others such as XCls?
Depends what's 'standard LR tyres' really, maybe SAT's. If so depends on which make. Whether you go for the XCL's really depends on what you're going to be doing with the Landy. If it pretty much lives for green lanes like mine then yes get some, if it on road most of the time, you'd be better looking elsewhere. I just like the look of them too.
Ok. I'm still after some better tyres *sigh*, anyone got any decent tyres they fancy flogging, say some XCLs or XZLs or something similar?
Cheers guyzzzzzzz.
erm...... 90% of truck tyres (i.e. lorry not yank for any vehicle bigger tahan a car) are remoulds its just a myth that they are any less safe, i have had 3 'new' tyres blow out one me and 0 remoulds................
Haha, fair enough then, but yeah, my original point, remoulds aside, just need better tyres that arent almost road tyres haha. And thanks for the advice. Anyone got any for sail?
