Ive just ordered one of these remote battery connectors for when I need to charge or jump my Defender battery. Planning on fitting them to the seat box somewhere, save me having to lift the seat base out each time.

Anyone else got them fitted, and where?

Yeh, I used to as well, but I find the standard connectors more useful when using my booster jump pack and Ctek charger with croc clips

Croc clips to Anderson connector.

Anderson connector to ctek charger

Anderson connector to boost pack.

Maximum versatility. Job done.

Think I'd be a bit concerned about accidental short circuits / how well the caps stay on, too much exposed contact for my liking, especially as it is directly connected to the battery with no fusing. 900CCA or thereabout means exactly that if you short things out:eek:

Leadfarter, you can connect these to the city lighter socket wires And superglue the contacts to the gear stick.

Boom!

Grey anderson plug everytime, tough/simple and they just work, no caps to fall off.
We have them on all the trucks at work, Ive got them on all my landrovers, plus a pair of jump leads cut at one end with a pair of andersons fitted inline.

Fitted D3 with inline fuse as the connector is between the front grill slat and there is always some **** out there!
S2 and 90 look the same with cables straight to the battery.
Next job is some 20 foot leads with andersons both ends then i have all avenues covered.
The trickle charger has an anderson fitted so its a quick plug in job to keep everything tip top.

Anybody got a male and female Anderson they want to flog me?
Cheap cos I'm tight and Xmas is nearly here. (Large wife and small family to support:D)

Ive removed the Anderson connector that I fitted, my battery charger and jump pack get used with other batteries so I wanted to revert back to crock clips for ease.

What current rating do they have, they look a bit on the small size for jumper cables.

They specify these for jump starting. This is their blurb....

They arrived yesterday and are quite heavy units for their size...

Any recommendation for the sizing/rating of battery cable to connect these please?

Thinking of mounting these to the drivers seat box as I park with the passenger side up against a wall. It would be handy to be able to open the drivers door and connect my Ctek battery charger to these whilst stood by the open door. No need to have to climb in or reach over to the passenger seat box.

Something jump lead cable size, heavier the better as to reduce voltage drop.
Vehicle Wiring Products Ilkeston will make some up for you for a few quid.

The anderson are bi-sexual and all the same colours fit each other ie grey to grey, red to red etc but I dont think you can go red to grey for example?
Just remember its the 175 version you want

Use the highest rated welding cable you can find. Higher rating than jump cable but still designed for vibration and flexibility. Lots of people use it for winches which I did when I wired mine up. It is reasonably priced and you can buy it per metre in red and black along with the crimp/solder ends to make up your own, little bit of heatshink and you're done. Much cheaper and a better finished product than buying one online ready made.

I think the Black one is unisex and will mate with any other colour:eek:. I think it is in the Andersons blurb somewhere.
