just tried changing the pollen filter on my 99 xedi 50th and then realised this model mustnt have one, however while looking i noticed a hose off under the footwell, small black hose that goes through the firewall into engine compartment, could this be why my windows mist up and freeze up inside,

Probably not, though it's certainly worth reconnecting it. The fault is probably that the rear cubby hole is full of water. The reason for this is that the rear door seals aren't very good. The remedy is to drill a couple of small holes in the bottom of the cubby hole (yes, really), remove and replace the rear door seal and if this doesn't fix it then cut a couple of sections out above the corners, use rain-x and keep a dehumidifier block in the car. The fault could also be a leaking heater matrix, which is fairly common.

If you have a blocked pollen filter you hardly get any air flow out of the vents onto the windscreen.

dont think mine has a pollen filter, rear cubby hole has a large round hole in it already so no water in there, maybe the door seal.

if you have aircon the hose could well be the water drain for the heater box.all aircon systems have water drain pipes in the heater box so could be it has been draining inside instead of through the bulkhead.
