So not just am I missing the small support cross member for the back of the box. It also seems I'm missing the chassis cross member in front of that too!! Would these still be in place even with the 2.5td engine fitted? Any ideas where I can buy these ready to fit? Feeling lazy and couldn't be bothered cutting one out.
 
Yes they'll still be in place. theres some pictures of them on my rebuild thread when I was taking the gearbox and engine out. I think paddocks or craddocks sell them.
 
Paddocks sell the gear box one for £26+ not that bad really. Prob cost as much to get one made up. But I think the middle one around back of box and bulkhead is going to be half chassis.
 
So BLRC near me have both in stock. It's the gearbox cross member and bulkhead cross member that are missing. Have a guy lined up to weld them back in place. Wondering has anyone had to do this before and am I easier to lift engine out to get access or can it be done with it in place?
 
Aidso are you sure yours is not a bolt in x member mil spec?? before you go welding in a new one a bolt in one is SOOO much easier to change a gearbox when the time comes
 
Well it is x MOD. There is a plate below the chassis about 300mm long and 40mm high that has 2 holes in it. The weld looks a bit rough and thought that might have been something someone else put in.
 
actually just checked and you cant……it'll be on a different thread cant remember which though
