My Defender insurance is due for renewal in 2 weeks - so I contacted AF's office and got a reasonable quote (and took out the optional breakdown cover at the same time)
However, having sent in my proof of no claims I today received a letter telling me that I was entitled to 3 and not the 4 years I'd specified, in spite of being claim free for 10 years (and discussing this at length when I set up the policy) and that my insurance would be increased by £50.
I'm not prepared to pay this extra cost and asked for the insurance and breakdown to be cancelled. I was staggered to hear the 'highly trained' operator tell me that it would cost me £45 because "that was in our terms and conditions and the policy is already set up". What? It doesn't start for two weeks!
If an Adrian Flux rep picks this message up,please make contact via a PM and I'll give you more details, other wise I'll take this sorry episode down the legal route.
