When the weather is cold/damp my display loses pixels but they return once the cabin has some heat in it. Problem is non existent in summer. The colder it is the more pixels I lose. Cabin is as far as I know 100% dry , matrix O rings, sunroof, pollen filters all sorted. Could it be that ribbon wiring connector needing replacing one wonders?o_O

Happens on both mine, very temperature dependent, it's the connection for the display. There are no pixels in the display, a pixel is a dot, it's a segment display.;)

@martyuk does ribbon replacement kits. I don't know if his mate is manning the site and sending the kits out.

Dunno, can't remember. All I do remember is that it was heavy, chrome or silver coloured, red display, hard to read in bright sunlight. Cost a bomb according to my dad , 13th birthday present. I'm 60 now and can't remember what I did yesterday :D

Can't get martys shop up??
Found something on rpi engineering, is that the same thing that marty does? Can't do links since the forums latest fart. £14 odd offa them.

did mine with the zebra connector last summer

I got mine off ebay - was an easy fix (surprisingly easy)
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/23453459...p/os9djRzdHbY8a3qxBK5JSQY=|tkp:Bk9SR4y7vNTJYQ

you can also try pressing firmly just below the bottom of the screen in the middle- without removing the unit. It is right here where the strip adheres to the bottom of the screen inside the unit. I lost the display once after replacing the strip and pressed there a few years back and it has not given any trouble since

I'm terrible for forgetting about things so I've ordered one off your link ready to do the job before I forget again., when it warms up a tad more I'll get on with it including fixing the bulbs and clock.
