Sunday thought I'd take a close look at the front side lights and indicators...they're the originals and don't think they've ever been taken off in 33 years [they've been in a box since I started the 90 refurb']. Upon inspection the rubbers and rear screws were covered in crud...and solid sandy/clay that's set like concrete

So last night soaked in hot soapy water and gave them a thorough scrubbing & removed all the crud. Then disassembled....£!!*&%)*@!!...all the wires at neck of rubber are split/broken insulation; I'm surprised they ever worked...or worse, wires didn't overheat!

Taking a closer look at the side light and indicator lenses made me think I should buy new. Then came the shock...how much?! Some Blue Box vendors wanting £75 a lens Determined to find some correctly priced lenses and to share finds if others are looking too, here are links

Honestly keep an eye on eBay or the military Land Rover parts group on Facebook.

I have managed to get a whole set of replacement lights for mine for about £40 but it’s taken me a couple of months of buying bits and pieces.

@flat , yes have been looking for NOS items, there's someone selling a batch but no side lights [they appear to be the rarer/more expensive units]. I did see these st/st rings, luckily mine are fine and I'll be buzzing back and painting mine to look correct when refitting.

I've also been buying them as they've come up on ebay,
Got sent a box full for free off a Facebook group member when I crashed mine and needed a clear one, that was a pleasant surprise.
