I have an ex MOD 110 with rear drum brakes. It is currently running on 7.50 R16 XCl. These are tubed. Can I fit tubeless tyres on these existing rims or do I have to buy new rims as well. I am thinking along the lines of why they had inner tubes in the first place, do the wheels have to be sealed to take a tubeless tyre or are they not air proof

cheers all

I have an ex camel 110 with drum braked rear axle on 130 rims .I.E heavy duty, with tubed BF Goodridge trackedge on Since then i have put on cooper STTs T less on with no problems. I think that the rims are sealed allright but more to the point is the inside edge of your rim suited to run on T lees so that in case of a blow out they don't brake seal. Any how if i was you ill let a tyre specialist have the last word.
