Hi all

My name is Natisha and ive got a Land rover Discovery 1996 2.5 Lt. Ive had it for the past 4 years and love it. Often take it green laneing.

Any way could anyone help me please?

Ive just had its year service and for £20 Diesel it will only do 100 miles. To me that am not right im sure I could much more than that.

Any body got any advice or anybody tell me if you think that sort of mileage is right and im just being dopey....
Thanks
Natisha

all depends on how heavy your foot is, length of trip, how much weight your carrying

that isnt so bad, but then i dare not work out my actual MPG

Assuming £1 per litre that works out at 22mpg. Which for normal road use on a Disco TDI does not sound very good. I seem to get about 28 for normal commuting. i.e. Bit of dual carriageway, traffic jam etc. From what I hear this sounds pretty normal with some people getting better than 30 average. Mind you, £20 to 100 miles sound rather neat numbers. Have you tried filling the tank right up. Zero the trip do half a tank or so and then re-fill. Then you can work it out accurately. 4.54 litres to the gallon. Can't be doing with litres per 100 km nonsense.
Then if you really are doing 22mpg, then either somethings wrong with the car or your right foot.

did 220 miles going to wales greenlaning and coming home last weekend and i did 31 mpg in a 300tdi defender

tis a bit low, might be worth getting it checked out if this started since the service.
