just a thought, I havent seen it mentioned anywhere here, dont weld cars or bikes alone.

Whilst under the car with the welding mask down & the welder going you wont notice the small fire you just started inside the car until its far too late.

I also always have a hose hanging around with the water turned on (but no water coming out as I have a trigger type nozzel) ready to save the car if it all goes wrong. But do remember you have massive amperages inside the welder so it should only be used in an emergency after the welder has been turned off!!! Or have a Co2 fire extinguisher close to hand.



Also think about where breather pipes are for petrol tanks & batteries, both go bang with impressive results. Break fluid is also VERY flamable!
