eyup rudd your welder is the same as mine,to start of try the higest setting ,max -min switch to min then the highest setting, set the wire speed about 3to 4.turn all the power OFF put the torch next to your ear, next mind not innit, turn gas on ,regulator right down ,then slowly turn it up until you here a steady hiss, then turn it to your ear you should just feel it cold on your ear,put the earth on power on mask on and away you go ...if it burns back to the nozzle turn wire speed up,,if it pushes you away turn it down a bit, once you get going then you can experiment a bit,,,hope this helps, dave

cheers chap, is you happy with the welder? I have heard people moan about wire feed etc. But, if its a case of taking longer etc to do the same job im happy with that as I cant and im sure many of us alike cant afford the top end commercial ones. cheers for advice ill use it when I start my welding

give the wire every chance to work properly, Ie. use good wire, not rusty stuff, get a new metal torch liner, new swan neck liner, new tip, new shroud etc :) You could clean your roller as well, and make sure it's centred :)
