So I had a woman in a micra pull out into me on a roundabout and I was wondering if anyone had had similar and if so do they know roughly what it will cost to put right? Her insurance will be paying for it but they have asked for an estimate.

None of that T-cut nonsense please :)

About £240 in parts, based on paddocks prices for new replacements. That includes a new bumper. Another £250 for labour. Because it's an insurance job - £1000.

Just buy a new light guard and call the rest character. The amount of money it cost going through insurers and then having that accident over your head isn't worth the hassle. If it was a big and costly claim then it would be worth it but when I first looked at the pictures I didn't notice anything wrong for a while.

Just take it to a few body shops for a quote. I'd be surprised if it was more than 500

wouldn't of bothered going through insurance with that  as said above, new light guard, or pull it straight, then knock the other little dents out ya self :D

any pics what the micra was like?

Sorry just to clarify, it was the other drivers fault and her insurance company will be paying for it (no effect on my insurance or NCB at all which is why I want it fixed).
Her insurance offered me 500 cash to go away but I would rather get it done by one of their garages as it saves me hassle and I might get a nice courtesy car while they do it.

I have got pics of the Micra, give me a sec to find them

your insurance will still go up

500 id bite their hand off mate

you have to answer the "i have been in an accident fault/non fault" as yes ..... and apparently having even a non fault accident puts you statistically mroe likely to have another.

its worth avoiding claiming imo.....

Pics of the other vehicle. Thanks zeaphod that's kind of what I was thinking.

Haha yeah I thought It would have destroyed it but you can see from the front shot how much it was pushed in. I reckon it got off lightly because my bumper went into the wheel arch where there isn't anything to hit which left the light guard and wing to take the brunt of the micras wing.

Its the paint job that will cause the price to rocket - and if it is non-standard colour, be prepared for them to write it off. I kid ye not - have known it to happen.
Thank them kindly for the£500 offer, but tell them you will accept £750. I bet they agree!

That's what worried me seeing as it's NATO green but its a lot easier to apply than other paints (no top coat, laquer, etc)
If I had the time and could be bothered to fix it myself I would but I would rather a garage did it to save me the hassle.

I did research insurance going up after a non fault claim but apparently that normally only happens with mass market insurers rather than specialist ones like 4x4 or military so I'm going to take the risk, although how they can justify putting your cost up when it wasn't your fault is beyond me

Get quotes from a garage, get them to fix it, your insurance wont ''go up'' , hers will.
And while your vehicle is getting repaired they or your insurance will sort you a hire car , have you called your insurance yet? If not do so, let them do the work for you, this wont effect your NCB or premium.
