Hi all,Bought a disco 300 tdi ES last weekend.Have a few problems..........Interior light doesn't work when you open the doors,no intermitent front wipers,no rear wiper,no rear fog lights,no heated front or rear screens,no headlight on buzzer.
I've read up that it's the mfu at fault.I removed it yesterday and checked for dry joints on the board but all seemed ok.I've tried doing the diagnostic self test but that won't work either.
My question is : Is the mfu at fault or is there another cause such as no power going to the mfu ?
Thanks:confused:

I presume you have checked the fuse?
If not Fuse 12 10A
Most of your problems do sound MFU related.
I don't think there is a headlight on buzzer, although there is one for any lights on.
Rear foglights not connected to mfu.

Yes,forgot to say fuses checked and all good.
All the info i've read confirms rear fogs are controlled via the mfu.
Anybody else please confirm ?

My apologies, you're correct.
The following operate thro the mfu
Heated rear screen
Interior lights
Side and headlights
Rear fog lights
Headlamp washers
Front wipers
Rear wash wipe

You live and learn
I think what you may need is another mfu to try.

I will confirm what nicedayforit says, as theres no relationship with rear fog lamps according to my diagram :)

There's two power supplies to the MFU one permanant the other ignition switched both are fused twice via a standard fuse and fuseable link.
If a lot of circuits go down then it has been known for a link to have blown
All the info is in a Haynes manual so I suggest u pick one u as it gives u all or most of the info u will need.

Hi All,
MFU update................
Today I bought a MFU from a scrap yard with Part No:AMR 1280 which is black in colour.
My original MFU is cream in colour and has a Part No of :AMR 5360.
I plugged bought unit in and now have some things working such as interior light, headlight washers, intermittent front wipers, heated front & rear screens, headlight on buzzer, glovebox light and the light around the ignition barrel.
But I have no rear wiper and the rear fog lights are now permentaly on even with the headlights off and the fog light switch un-plugged so I've had to remove the fuse !!
So I'm now after the correct MFU with the Part No: AMR 5360 Cream in colour.
Can anybody help please ?
Thanks Andy

Do the indicators work through the MFU
The indicators on my 300tdi sometime work and most of the time do not.
Changed the relay/Flasher (53988077B) but no luck.
Hazard lights work OK
Indicator switch seems OK
what can it be pleseeeeeeeeee
