Just changed the passenger side radius arm bushes with metalastic genuine bushes. It's sorted the wandering steering a treat. My question is do I need to change the other side or wait till they go. I've got the parts, but had a bit of a struggle even with a 12t press! Mainly because I used sockets from the tool box to try and push the bushes in/ out. So the bushes are genuine on both sides, but those on the drivers side are 18yrs older than the passenger side. What do you guys think?

Change em out, do it while you are fresh from battle, new genuine ones will do you another 18yrs, or put it off and still wind up doing it in a few months anyway.

I'd change em too. Because it's a ####er getting them out (I spent 2 hours with a hacksaw and various other items including my big #### off hammer) I bought a spare radius arm that I've cleaned and painted and fitted new bushes to so that I can take one off and put one straight back on again reducing the time the axle is loose. Cost me £10 from eblag for the arm.

Thanks for your advice guys. I changed the drivers side this afternoon, did it much quicker, all done in 3 hours. Even with a 12ton press I had to hacksaw 3 out of the 4 bushes. To put the new ones in I used 2 tab over wheel bearing washers, an old radius arm bush and a 52mm socket. Tab washers on top of the new bush followed by the old bush and the big socket over everything. photos attached. I am SO moneysupermarket!

i took off the hockey sticks & just got them to replace the bushes - £60 well spent

Cordless drill and good vice and punch. Drilled rubber out then punched sides in and they fel out. Grease and good vice and sockets and they fell in almost lol
