Hello everyone

I am the new. And proud owner of a 1977 lwb Safari that is running and moted but is basically hard on the eye, although I love it. I've wanted a big old landy for years but never had the space or resources to get one, still haven't but what the hell. I have called my Landy Compo because it is old and looks like crap.

The bloke I bought him from said the fuel gauge doesn't work, which is true. What he didn't say was that lots of other things don't work either. Never mind though, I didn't buy him for touring the planet, just scaring other road users as it lurches down the road and not in a straight line. I don't intend to restore him to former glory just get as much of his bits working as possible and improve the safety, comfort and userbility as much as possible without taking away the rustic character, it's a fine balance between originality and common sense.

I will be using this forum and its collective pool of knowledge quite a bit I imagine so please forgive any of my postings/questions if they seem a bit stupid, not just landy questions but navigation of forums any computer related dramas too

Kind regards....Colin

Welcome to the funny farm. Your Landy sound similar to mine but I think mine scares me more than other road users.

Hi Colin, much prefer the older stuff, I have restored over 10 classic cars and bikes so if I can help just ask.

Still looking for my lightweight 60s SWB 2 restore, but at the mo not looking too hard, I think the wife will finally kill me.......

All the best,

NIge K
