Hi there,

I have a replacement Turbo that needs fitting. Can anyone recommend a mechanic around Tunbridge Wells?

My Friend has garage, really good, trading standards approved, garage. Not mega close, in Snodhurst near Rochester, but will do a good job.

Thanks, Earl, I have had the turbo done. However, it would appear that the mechanic that diagnosed the issue, missed diagnosed it, all at my expense! The car still has a high pitch screech at high revs. So still need a mechanic to investigate and repair. What's his contact. Thanks

... Sorry have I missed something? Was only responding to a request for a good garage, I have seen similar threads asking for recommended garages in someone's area. Not my garage. If i have broken some rule apologies, but I was only trying to help a fellow member.

Apologies if your response was genuine. Just that I have never heard of "trading standards" approving anything.

Oh yeah, it was.

To clarify, it means that they have been spot checked by trading standards on several occasions, they bring in cars for MOT / small jobs and make sure the place doesn't over charge / try to rob you.

In the case of this garage, they also deal with disputes for trading standards, so if you have a complaint about quality of work, or that a dodgy MOT was done on a car you purchased, the garage is the independent place used to check.

As an aside, I am surprised as it is quite common across a range of trades.
